I am flying to Seattle this evening, and will be in the Pacific Northwest for a fortnight. Chances are you’ll actually hear more from me, since it will be a nice lazy vacation and I may have both inclination and time to write.
Things I am looking forward to: seeing my sisters, mother, cousins, aunts, grandmother etc.; old college friends and former teachers; dock-jumping; Vancouver for the first time in half a decade; pho and cream puffs at Than Brothers; hometown bookshops; reading fiction generously; saltwater swimming; picking blackberries; lesbian bathhouses; hiking; the sight of real mountains; Northwest microbrews; low humidity; alder-smoked salmon; the Seattle Central Library (my card’s in my pocket); the scent of Douglas fir trees in the August heat.
