still here

Somehow this blog and its author have both survived another year on the planet. The first post here--about new directions in Turkish cinema--was written the day after my twenty-fourth birthday. I decided to keep it up as long as I was enjoying myself; two years later, my enthusiasm remains undimmed, though my time is more limited. The quarter-century year was quite an improvement upon the one that preceded it: I've been blessed with fulfilling work, the marvelous diversions of New York, and this growing and deepening circle of friends, lovers, and fellow-travelers who've somehow turned Brooklyn into home.

Cheers to all of you who've made this little adventure on the internets such a pleasure. I'll try to keep making it worth your while.

Congratulations on your second anniversary -- an age online. I'm a relative newcomer to your site, and I enjoy it.
