flying while muslim

My lovely and talented friend Lyra Porras Garzon, a filmmaker and human rights media activist, has just released a ten minute preview clip from her forthcoming documentary on racial and religious profiling since 9/11. The preview includes footage from interviews with blogger/architect Raed Jarrar (about his experience on jetBlue) and journalist Mona Eltahawy (whom I had the pleasure of meeting via Lyra, and whose work you should absolutely be reading if you're interested in Islam, feminism, and human rights in the Middle East). Poet Nathalie Handal and Amnesty USA's Dalia Hashad are also featured.

The official website for Flying While Muslim is here.
