urban architecture: the levant & the subcontinent

The NYT magazine's annual architecture issue is up, and these two pieces on contemporary buildings in Beirut and Delhi are especially interesting. The first article, which focuses on Lebanese architect Bernard Khoury, also has some fascinating tidbits about his projects in the Gulf, particularly a women's spa in Riyadh that functions as an architectural metaphor for the highly contextual veiling practices of elite Saudi women.
